The Anchor Boys for boys aged 6 – 8, The Junior Section for boys aged 8 – 11, The Company section for young teens 11-15
On the 4th October 1883 William Smith commenced the 1st Boys Brigade Company in Glasgow. Since then the movement has grown into a world wide organisation. Every week in UK and Republic of Ireland over 60,000 children and young people meet in over 1,500 Companies. Since the very first company was formed the object of the Boy’s Brigade has always remained the same: "The advancement of Christ's kingdom among Boys and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness." |
